I first became interested in photography when I took a high school photography class in which we worked with 35mm black and white film. I used my mother's Nikon from the 70s and found that I had a natural sense of composition.
Twelve years later, after having graduated from UCLA with an English degree, I purchased a Canon 20d from ebay and a Canon 35mm f/2 lens to go with it. My fascination with photography was reborn.
My philosophy: art is about feeling. Whatever the medium, if you don't feel it, it's worthless. My work is about instinct and raw emotion. Even my high concept pieces arise from the vast sea of emotions swirling inside me.
Authenticity is important to me. My work comes from the heart. I never create anything with social pressures in mind. My work is a part of who I am, take it or leave it.
